So Shot began as a project band in 2019, originally intended to play at a school fundraiser known as Squanathon for pediatric cancer. The band began practicing routinely and started playing at graduation parties and private events for friends and family. In 2022 the band was rebranded as a more serious group and moved on to playing for local venues such as The Stone Pony. Currently So Shot Band is available to play at bars, clubs, festivals, community and private events including parties, weddings and corporate functions. They play "a little bit of something for everybody" including all types of Rock, R&B, Funk and Pop.
Sean Rogers is the frontman and lead singer of the So Shot Band. Coming from a family of drummers, he credits his father for his musical talent and love for the industry. Sean is also a proud member of Monmouth County's "Trash Pandas" hockey team, and plays rec league softball on Sundays. Sean stays as active as he possibly can, wether it be singing with the band, playing sports, or working full time as a plumber all around the Jersey Shore.
Ian Walsh is a multi instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter, producer, audio engineer and DJ. Playing from a young age, Ian is a self taught Pianist and composer. He handles the management and direction of the band, and is locked in to the order of business on and off the stage. Ian also performs with a few other artists and bands from the area. Ian is a strong believer in giving back to the community, and helping other people at all times
Herm is a lean, mean, bass playing machine. He persistently devotes a huge portion of his life to mastering his craft, and has been influenced by some of the world's greatest players, such as Jaco Pastorious and James Jamerson. Herm is a highly skilled and technical player, and an extremely knowledgable musician. He is the foundation of the So Shot sound. Herm proudly represents Belmar, NJ, and has worked with countless other musicians from the Jersey Shore
Nick, often referred to as "Nicky P," brought his talent to the So Shot in 2022. He provides both lead and support vocals for the band, and plays a variety of auxiliary percussive instruments on stage. Nick brings a fun, honest, positive attitude to each and every show. He is known to call it like it is, and takes his role very seriously, reminding everyone else to do the same. In his free time, Nick can be found playing his guitar, religiously watching football, and following jam bands around the country.
Though he credits his talent to hard work, dedication, and practice, it is quite clear that Mikey Muscato is a musical prodigy. He can be seen playing both drums and guitar and So Shot performances, filling in whatever's needed. Mikey is one of the founding members of the band, being the first to recruit members when the band was formed. Mikey hails from Brielle, NJ and is known to have many nicknames. Including “Muscles”, “Mass”, “Miskey”, “Alfa”, and many....many, more.
Joey, also referred to as "Joey Boags," is a multi instrumentalist and vocalist, who specializes in the trumpet.
Joey has been playing since he was young. Besides So Shot, Joe also plays lead guitar in "Garage Sale," an indie rock band, which he and some friends formed during their teen years. After high school, Joey studied abroad in Spain for a year. By coincidence, Joe was was working in an auto mechanic shop, when asked to be a part of So Shot's revival. He has been an essential part of the band ever since.
Johnny is an electric/fingerstyle guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and producer. Originally from the DC metro area, he now resides in Monmouth County, NJ. Johnny graduated Georgia Tech in 2022 with a BS in Music Technology and now works as a full-time musician. He frequently performs as a solo artist, though he plays and tours with numerous bands. Johnny officially joined the So Shot Band early in 2023. His addition to the band has often been referred to as a game changer, as his dedication to the craft has aspired the other members to work towards being as skilled as he
Brian is a down to earth, hard working trumpeter out of Spring Lake Heights NJ. He is another original member of the band from when it was first formed. As a member of the Squanathon student committee, he was able to get the band their first show ever played. Brian serves as a horn player, vocalist, and hype man. And when he's not serving the band, he serves as a police officer of Freehold Township.
Kevin Swanson, AKA "K-Swan," is a rare breed of kick ass drummer. K- Swan is the definition of someone who plays their heart out. Almost every time, people are left jaw dropped at how talented this guy is. He can also be found playing all over with numerous artists, including Duke Hill, Kiaura Rose, Erik Mason, and more
David Roman is a local legend. He has been playing in the music scene longer than any other So Shot member, and passes down all he knows to the rest of the band. In recent years, Roman looks out for his fellow band mates like a bear amongst cubs. He spends his free time writing charts and scores for every instrument. But most importantly, he plays the most majestic sax folks have ever heard.
Ryan Swanson is one to appear on special occasions. And what makes those occasions so special, is the fact that he's there. Unfortunately, it is a rare occurrence to see this particular Swan on the So Shot Stage now a days. But whenever Ryan returns to his native land of the Jersey Shore, he's always sure to bring smiles to our faces, and music to our ears.
